ELECTRIC AGGREGATE UPDATE
Update on the electrical aggregation. Energy Harbor was purchased by Vistra Corp and will transition to Dynegy, one of Vistra Corp’s suppliers Energy Harbor is the supplier of the electric aggregation. As the consultant of the County program, we wanted to make you aware of a letter the residents will receive.
The electric aggregation residents will receive a letter from Energy Harbor stating they have been purchased by Dynegy and moving forward Dynegy will appear on the utility bill. The contract remains the same. The participants will receive that letter and then shortly after will receive a switch notice from the utility. They will need to ignore that letter as normal when a new aggregation begins.
If anyone needs additional information please contact Valerie Bluhm at Palmer Energy Company at 419-491-1040.
East Union Township is in an electric aggregation contract until June 2024 with Dynegy at $0.068 cents. Wooster Township and the Village of Apple Creek is in a contract that began in December 2023 with Energy Harbor at $0.0651 cents and it goes until December 2025. When East Union Township’s contract ends in June, it will switch to the Energy Harbor aggregate. Opt outs will go to the residents. Gas aggregate for East Union Township and the Village of Apple Creek is $4.46mcf until September 2025 with IGS.
EASTWOOD ALLOTMENT DECISION REFERRING TO THE MEETING ON AUGUST 4, 2022.
THE EAST UNION TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES HAVE DISCUSSED THE FLOODING ON ROBIN AND GALE STREETS MANY TIMES AND HAVE ACTUALLY REACHED OUT TO ALL OF THE RESIDENTS OF EASTWOOD ALLOTMENT TO DO AN INCOME STUDY TO HELP WAYNE COUNTY SECURE A GRANT TO FIX THE FLOODING ON ROBIN STREET. WE HAVE ALSO ASKED THE WAYNE COUNTY ENGINEER TO GIVE US A QUOTE ON INSTALLING A BIG TILE DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, AND AS IT TURNED OUT, IT WOULD BE OVERLY EXPENSIVE AND MAY NOT EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM IN THE END. THERE WAS A STUDY DONE OVER 10 YEARS AGO ON WHAT IT WOULD TAKE TO DO WHAT THE DEVELOPER SHOULD HAVE DONE BEFORE THEY ADDED ROBIN STREET, AT THAT TIME IT WOULD COST OVER $800,000 DOLLARS. WHEN WE RECEIVED THE ARPA FUNDS WE CHECKED WITH OUR LEGAL COUNSEL TO SEE IF WE COULD SPEND MONEY OFF OF ROAD RIGHT OF WAY, THEY SAID WE COULD AT THAT TIME. THEY SAID WE COULD NOT DO THIS PROJECT DIRECTLY, AND THAT WE HAD TO GET THE RESIDENTS OF THE ALLOTMENT AND THE AREA LANDOWNERS THAT OWN THE LAND WHERE THE WORK NEEDS TO BE DONE TO COME TOGETHER TO GET THIS DONE. SINCE THE MONEY WE COULD SPEND OFF OF THE ROAD RIGHT OF WAY WAS LIMITED, WE CHECKED WITH OUR LEGAL COUNSEL ONCE MORE. WE ASKED IF WE HAD LESS THAN THE AMOUNT NEEDED TO FINISH THE JOB AS IT WAS ENGINEERED THAT WE SHOULD NOT START. THE CONCERN WAS THAT THE PROJECT MIGHT FIX THE FLOODING ON ROBIN AND GALE STREETS DURING VERY HEAVY RAINS, BUT WOULD THEN IN TURN CAUSE FLOODING ON THE OTHER TWO STREETS. AT THAT POINT THE TOWNSHIP WOULD BE LIBEL FOR THE DAMAGES CAUSED.
